Meet Jim Weeast

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Jim Weeast serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for OhioHealth. In this role, Jim leads and oversees the deployment of customer-centric technology initiatives to transform the patient, provider and associate experience at OhioHealth.

With new retail-based competitors entering the healthcare industry, customer expectations continue to increase. Jim leads his team in innovating solutions that will ensure OhioHealth stays competitive in the changing landscape and engages and retains customers for life. As part of this work, Jim remains focused on building and investing in the skills and technology needed for the future. He also prioritizes data-informed decision-making and leads his team to capture, structure and effectively present information and clinical insights. This helps business units across OhioHealth efficiently make decisions that support strategy and deliver value for the customers and communities we serve.

Prior to joining OhioHealth in 2018, Jim was Vice President of Transformational Technologies at Walgreens Boots Alliance, responsible for the new technologies implemented in the 9,000-store retail chain within the US. Prior to his transformational assignment, Jim was the CIO of Pharmacy, Health and Wellness for Walgreens. He also worked for Old National Bank as Senior Vice President and CIO. Jim attended West Chester University in Pennsylvania where he pursued his undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Later, he went on to Baldwin Wallace University where he earned his MBA in 2009.

Jim serves as a board member of the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and Ohio Health Information Partnership. He is also the Executive Sponsor of the OhioHealth Asian Business Resource Group.
