Meet Michael Krouse
Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer
Michael Krouse serves as OhioHealth’s Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. In this role he has responsibility for guiding the future direction of the organization and ensuring a strategic framework that delivers on operational excellence, growth and meeting consumers where they are with a diverse portfolio of services. He provides system leadership for Strategy, Business Development, Market Intelligence and Insights, Regional Development, New Venture Investments and Business Transformation.
Michael joined OhioHealth in March 2007 as Chief Information Officer and was named Senior Vice President in 2011. Prior to assuming his current role in 2018, he also served as OhioHealth’s executive leader for Clinical Support Services and the organization’s Process Excellence and Project Management areas from 2015 to 2018. Before joining OhioHealth, he spent 20+ years in prior healthcare executive roles at UW Medicine, First Consulting Group, E&Y and Arthur Young in the Pacific Northwest. He carries the unique experience of serving as a restauranteur early in his professional career.
Michael is a board member of the Columbus College of Art and Design underscoring his passion for the arts. He is a board member of Ascension Ventures and serves as a Limited Partner of Drive Capital’s investment funds II and III. He also serves as the LP representative for OhioHealth’s participation with LRV and General Catalyst. Michael also maintains active board advisory roles for several technology companies. He is a past Board chair of Columbus-based Covail, past board chair of the Central Ohio Information Exchange, past board member of the Columbus Children’s Theater, and past board member of the Ohio Health Information Partnership.
Michael completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Washington State University and graduate studies in Business at the University of Washington. He is an experienced speaker, coach and author on healthcare trends, strategic planning, technology and executive leadership development.
Michael and his wife have two children.
