Additional Program Information

AMBULATORY CLINIC

We have a recently renovated, free standing ambulatory clinic on campus, which features 7 patient examination rooms to facilitate the half-day continuity clinics required by the ACGME during the three-year residency. Residents are exposed to a diverse patient population that provides a broad range of socioeconomic and case complexity. They are supported by:

  • Board Certified Attending Physicians
  • Onsite Laboratory
  • Social Work
  • Behavioral Health and Eating Disorder Counseling
  • Financial Counseling
ONSITE FELLOWSHIPS

Cardiology and Pulmonary Critical Care

  • Our residents regularly work side by side with our fellows to enrich their education. The collective environment allows for early exposure to fellowship opportunities. Specialty fellows and faculty provide longitudinal curriculum for our residents.
OSTEOPATHIC EDUCATION

We are the second largest osteopathically recognized residency training center in the nation. Our residents have support of a fulltime Program Director of Osteopathic Medicine and our own Director of Osteopathic Medicine for Internal Medicine. Doctors Hospital Internal Medicine has monthly hands-on sessions to hone osteopathic treatment skills.

RESIDENT WELLNESS

OhioHealth has an industry leading wellness center for Provider Well-being. Residents work one on one with counselors that are devoted to their wellness. We have additional services provided from the employee assistance program.

As a program we host a semiannual wellness retreat for our residents to build resiliency, mindfulness, purpose, and passion. We protect work-life balance.

DIDACTICS

Structured daily didactics including board preparation, OMT, POCUS, and simulation. We have a longitudinal leadership series and a wellness series for our residents.

We feature resident run case-based presentations, board preparation, morbidity and mortality, EKG conference, grand rounds, Project ECHO for addiction medicine, longitudinal preventative care series, quality and safety, and research collaboration.

Onsite state of the art simulation lab allows for hands on application of skills and practice of procedures. The POCUS curriculum includes simulated practice and bedside teaching.
