Convenient free parking is next to the main entrance for patients and visitors. Use the Blue elevators to reach the labor and delivery unit on the third floor.

When you're admitted

You have a private, calm birthing suite for labor, delivery and recovery. The suite includes advanced labor and delivery technology, a private bathroom with walk-in shower and natural lighting. Your support person may be in the room with you during labor and delivery.

After delivery, you move to a private postpartum room with smart room technology that allows you to virtually share your new baby with loved ones. The room includes a private bathroom and shower, rocking chair or glider, telephone, television and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Your birthing suite and postpartum rooms both feature comfortable sleeping accommodations for you and your partner.

Meeting your baby

You have the chance to hold your new baby as soon as they are born. Your baby will be placed directly on your bare chest for skin-to-skin contact.

After a normal delivery, we encourage you to keep your baby with you in your room as much as possible to begin the natural bonding process. If you require rest or additional medical care, your baby may be cared for in the nursery near the postpartum room.

Visitor policy

A doula will be permitted for labor and delivery. Doulas must follow the same policies and screenings as visitors. Laboring patients who are minors may have their parents or guardians as visitors, in addition to the parent-to-be of the baby.

Visitors park free in the lot in front of the hospital. A patient ambassador can direct them to your room.

Laborist Program

At Pickerington Methodist, we know how important it is to have expert care close to home — especially when you’re expecting. That’s why we provide you with a laborist for 24/7 pregnancy care.

What is a laborist?

A laborist, also known as an OB hospitalist, is an obstetrician (OB-GYN) who specializes in managing the needs of pregnant women. You will have a team of OBGYN physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives.

What does this mean for you?

You can take comfort knowing the hospital is staffed around-the-clock by a team of experienced laborists. If an obstetrician is unavailable, a laborist can provide immediate care and tend to your urgent needs.

We’re committed to keeping care local for residents in Pickerington and its surrounding areas. Laborists help us do this by assuming labor, delivery and inpatient postpartum care for our physician partners. Working together, these specialists ensure every patient receives the care and experience they deserve.
